Girl Stabbed in Fight with Mom's Boyfriend

A 14-year-old Jersey City girl suffered several "self-inflicted" knife wounds after pulling a knife on her mother's boyfriend during an argument, officials said. The Morton Place girl said she was speaking on the phone when her mother's boyfriend snatched it out of her hand and she warned him to "Get out of my face. I'm not playing with you," reports said. She told police her mom's boyfriend then pushed her and she picked up the kitchen knife because "he's bigger than me and I just didn't feel like fighting with him," reports said. The man tried to disarm her and "while attempting to stab (him) she in turn stabbed herself," reports said, adding that the girl told the officers that at no time did he try to harm her with the knife. She suffered a puncture and cuts to to her left upper arm, right forearm and middle finger, reports said. The girl was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment before being taken to the Hudson County Youth House in Secaucus, reports said. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
